Ayurveda & Yoga Therapy

Ayurveda strongly believes that we are all unique individuals.

When we look at treating a health concern, each visit is tailored to recognise the distinct nature of a person and how to bring about harmony and balance.

Ayurveda is a traditional science that uses natural elements as a source of health and wellbeing.

"Ayurveda" is a Sanskrit word meaning "science of life".

Ayurvedic Medicine and its therapies turn to nature as a source of achieving balance and harmony within the body and mind.

Meena offers her clients a holistic approach to healthcare concerns and aims to uproot the illness from its source and not just fix the symptoms.

Many of the issues we see today are lifestyle-based and can be treated using a number of treatments available in Ayurvedic medicine.

Following a consultation, Meena will suggest the best route to take which will be based on taking an integrated approach to help you feel and look better.

A traditional science along with modern medicine can be used to compliment one another.

With guidance and support, clients can expect to feel more in control of their health rather than seek quick and fad fixes.

Ayurvedic Acupuncture

Once considered a lost art, Marmapuncture is now being offered in the UK.

Vital energy is restored to the body, aches and pains are soothed and a person feels rested and relaxed.

The method involves inserting thin, sterile needles in specific areas of the body that are left there for around 30 minutes. Marmapuncture has been used to successfully treat a range of conditions in my clinic such as migraines, insomnia, psoriasis, anxiety, panic attacks, neurological and psychiatric problems, arthritis, digestive complaints, and musculoskeletal problems.

Children can also be treated. Magnets and ear seeds are used instead of needles

Cost : £50/session

Ayurvedic Massage (Females Only)

Ayurvedic massage involves using special oils (some of which I blend myself) and then massaging the body. Certain pressure points are used to aid relaxation and recovery.

Ayurveda recommends massages on a regular basis to ease tired and aching muscles.

A homemade herbal poultice can also be added. This is heated and then applied to particularly stiff and achy muscles.

Cost : £80 Full Body Massage

Add a poultice : £20

Yoga Therapy

After many years of running public Yoga classes, I have now focused my attention on teaching within community learning in various educational and healthcare settings. My main passion is primarily with those with complex mental health needs.

I also run bespoke one-to-one therapy classes and run courses in meditation from time to time.

Cupping

Cupping involves placing a glass cup that is suctioned and creates a vacuum. This process draws blood and removes stagnation and thereby helps towards recovery and healing from a range of issues due to muscle pain, improving immune function, arthritis, headaches, digestive disorders and much more.

Body Gua Sha

This type of bodywork therapy includes scraping areas of the body to aid circulation and stagnation. It can be used to treat headaches, tight and sore muscles and improve immunity and detoxification.
