Ayurveda: A Unique Path to Health and Harmony
Ayurveda is rooted in the understanding that each individual is unique, requiring a personalised approach to health and well-being. Rather than treating just symptoms, Ayurvedic medicine aims to address the root cause of illnesses, restoring harmony and balance to both body and mind.
Derived from the Sanskrit words "Ayur" (life) and "Veda" (science or knowledge), Ayurveda translates to the "Science of Life." This traditional system of medicine draws from nature's elements, utilising holistic therapies and practices to promote overall well-being.
Meena’s Approach
Meena offers a compassionate and integrative approach to healthcare, combining traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern medical insights. After an in-depth consultation, she tailors a treatment plan that recognises your distinct nature and lifestyle. Her goal is to empower clients with the tools and understanding needed to take charge of their health, steering away from quick fixes and fad solutions.
Lifestyle-Based Solutions
Many health concerns today stem from lifestyle imbalances. Ayurveda provides a wealth of treatments, from dietary adjustments and herbal remedies to therapeutic techniques like Ayurvedic acupuncture and massage. By addressing these root causes, clients often experience profound improvements in their physical, mental, and emotional health.
Integrative Healing
Ayurveda complements modern medicine, offering a pathway to enhanced health and vitality. Under Meena’s guidance, you can expect a collaborative, supportive journey toward feeling and looking your best—naturally and sustainably.
Ayurvedic Acupuncture
Once considered a lost art, Marmapuncture is now being offered in the UK.
Vital energy is restored to the body, aches and pains are soothed and a person feels rested and relaxed.
The method involves inserting thin, sterile needles in specific areas of the body that are left there for around 30 minutes. Marmapuncture has been used to successfully treat a range of conditions in my clinic such as migraines, insomnia, psoriasis, anxiety, panic attacks, neurological and psychiatric problems, arthritis, digestive complaints, and musculoskeletal problems.
Children can also be treated. Magnets and ear seeds are used instead of needles
Cost : £70/initial consultation
£60/session
£340/6 sessions
Ayurvedic Massage (Females Only)
Ayurvedic massage involves using special oils (some of which I blend myself) and then massaging the body. Certain pressure points are used to aid relaxation and recovery.
Ayurveda recommends massages on a regular basis to ease tired and aching muscles.
A homemade herbal poultice can also be added. This is heated and then applied to particularly stiff and achy muscles.
Cost : £100 Full Body Massage
Add a poultice : £20
Yoga Therapy
After many years of running public Yoga classes, I have now focused my attention on teaching within community learning in various educational and healthcare settings. My main passion is primarily with those with complex mental health needs.
I also run bespoke one-to-one therapy classes and run courses in meditation from time to time.
Cupping
Cupping involves placing a glass cup that is suctioned and creates a vacuum. This process draws blood and removes stagnation and thereby helps towards recovery and healing from a range of issues due to muscle pain, improving immune function, arthritis, headaches, digestive disorders and much more.
Body Gua Sha
This type of bodywork therapy includes scraping areas of the body to aid circulation and stagnation. It can be used to treat headaches, tight and sore muscles and improve immunity and detoxification.
